CRISIS RESPONSE TRAINING

Prepare your people to respond.

Seconds Save Life offers hands-on, scenario-based training designed to prepare individuals and teams to respond confidently during medical emergencies, active threats, and other high-consequence incidents. Our courses include medically focused Direct Threat Casualty Care (DTCC), Stop the Bleed®, a four-hour DTCC skills refresher, and active-threat response training.

Direct Threat Casualty Care (DTCC)

- 8hr Certificate Course -

Direct Threat Casualty Care (DTCC) is an eight-hour, hands-on certificate program that prepares participants to provide appropriate lifesaving care during active threats and other dangerous incidents when EMS is delayed or cannot safely reach the injured. Designed for responsible civilians, educators, church and school safety teams, security personnel, workplace response teams, and event staff, DTCC requires no previous medical training.

Participants learn to assess the threat environment, prioritize treatment using MARCH-E, control life-threatening bleeding, manage airway and chest injuries, move casualties, establish a casualty collection point, and communicate effectively with arriving responders. The program combines focused instruction, practical skills stations, and realistic scenarios designed to build sound judgment and confidence under pressure.

Participants who successfully complete the skills requirements and final examination receive a DTCC certificate of completion which is valid for 3 years.

(DTCC graduates may renew their certification through an optional four-hour refresher course focused on reinforcing core skills, reviewing key concepts, and applying them in updated hands-on scenarios.)

Church/School Scenario Training

1-4 hour SOP-Based Training.

Active Threat Church and School Scenario Training prepares staff and safety teams to respond effectively during active-shooter and other violent incidents while stress-testing their existing SOPs through realistic scenarios. Each program is customized to the organization’s facility, personnel, emergency plans, and identified risks.

Through realistic, scenario-based exercises, participants practice threat recognition, emergency communication, lockdown and evacuation decisions, team coordination, casualty care, and transition to arriving responders. Optional dry-range modules may also include firearms fundamentals, shoot-and-move drills, and building-clearing techniques using non-live-fire training systems. Each session concludes with a guided debrief to identify strengths, response gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

ACS Stop The Bleed

2 Hour Hands-On Training (all ages).

The American College of Surgeons Stop the Bleed® course is a two-hour, hands-on program that teaches participants how to recognize and control life-threatening bleeding before professional responders arrive.

Participants learn three essential bleeding-control techniques: applying direct pressure, packing a wound, and correctly applying a tourniquet. No previous medical training is required. Upon successful completion, participants receive an official Stop the Bleed® certificate.

Crisis Response Team Challenge

Build teamwork under pressure.

This customizable two- to four-hour team-building experience challenges participants to communicate, problem-solve, and work together through hands-on emergency-response activities. Teams may face casualty movement, bleeding control, triage, and other practical challenges before completing a final scenario designed to test teamwork under pressure. No previous medical training is required.
